From the ED 7.17.14

Dear Colleagues,

AC2014_identity_squareBy now you will have seen that MISBO opened registration for the 2014 Annual Conference – Ideas in Motion – to be held November 2-4, 2014 in Tampa, FL. In addition to our new website, we are using a new schedule program – click here to view the interactive schedule. You will find everything you need to know. I do believe that this program is outstanding. In addition to our keynote and general session speakers, we have several breakout session speakers who have been keynotes speakers at other events – Carla Silver, Dr. John Young, Bill Latham, Kevin Carlson, to name a few. Check out their bios – this is an amazing line up of presenters bringing you what we believe will be an astonishing two days of learning, networking, and lots of fun!

Over the next couple of months I will tell you more about the program and speakers, as well as the special events we have planned for the 2014 MISBO Annual Conference. Keep this page – www.misbo.com/ac2014 bookmarked for up to date information.

DASL_bannerI also want you to know about a big change with how MISBO collects data from our schools. For many years our member schools have submitted data in a number of ways to MISBO.  The past two years was in conjunction with SAIS. A new collaboration between MISBO, SAIS, NAIS (and many other independent school associations) combines the data collection process through NAIS’ Data Analysis for School Leadership (DASL – pronounced “dazzle”) –you can click here to log into your account. Once logged in as a MISBO member school you will see MISBO listed on the left side, along with other associations which your school belongs and are part of this project. All schools will enter a ‘core’ set of data. Additionally, MISBO member schools will enter data that is specific and important to our members. If you entered data into the Interactive Data Partners (IDP) portal the past two years, that data has been imported into DASL. Bottom line – you now only need to enter data into NAIS’ DASL – you do NOT need to be an NAIS member school to participate and benchmark your school to other MISBO member schools. DASL opens for data entry on August 4, 2014, but is ready now for benchmarking. Look for more information from MISBO and NAIS about this exciting collaboration.

Sincerely,

Marc
