From the ED 11.7.13

Dear Colleagues,

It was a pleasure to see many of you at the MISBO-SAIS Annual Conference – The Global Future: Preparing Students and Shaping Schools. The session by Dr. Yong Zhao was inspiring and left me thinking about the future of our schools. Dr. Richard Soghoian presented us with a unique and provocative message about how our schools can be sustainable and thrive. I know he left many people contemplating new ways to think about their annual fund. Janice Abraham, President & CEO of United Educators provided some practical guidance to help our schools deal with the myriad of risk management issues we face when sending students and faculty abroad. Paul Catania, Oswald Companies (ISBC) provided an overview of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) along with information about the partnership with MISBO and how we can help our schools reduce their health insurance costs. I could go on and on… I learned a great deal and I trust that everyone attending did as well.

In addition to all of this great learning, the time spent with colleagues is invaluable. The opening reception with our vendors and the event sponsored by KI were great opportunities to relax and connect with friends. Thank you to all that attended, and a special thanks to our sponsors and exhibitors. The support of these organizations makes a conference of this quality possible.

We are working on the details and the programs for our three spring live events. I hope to see you at one of these conferences next year.
